Job Description:

As a member of the Platform Management System (PMS) Control and Indication team, your role is responsible for the technical management and guidance of system test design, along with coordination of test artefact reviews and workflows for Platform Management System. This will also include ensuring that the delivery teams undertake all Verification & Validation activities in a manner consistent with company policy, business processes and integrated systems procedures and PMSC&I management arrangements.

Core duties:

  • You will lead a team of test engineers / specialist contractors, from a technical perspective, to define and deliver the test programme of work, as delegated by the Principal/Senior Engineering Manager.
  • You will ensure that all staff software test training requirements for the delivery team are identified to establish and maintain a suitably qualified and experienced test resource.
  • You will communicate advice and information to departments, organisations and authorities on all test input artefact issues relating to the system design, as delegated by the Principal/Senior Engineering Manager.

Essential Skills:

  • You will hold a degree (or equivalent level) qualification in a relevant engineering discipline along with Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards this goal.
  • You will have demonstrable software test experience including automation of unit, module/component integration and system level testing in an industry such as marine, nuclear, oil & gas, automotive, aerospace.
  • You will have knowledge and experience in the application of standards such as IEEE Std 829-2008 and IEEE 15288:2015.
  • You will bring your knowledge and experience of electrical control systems utilising Siemens, Rockwell and GE PLCs to this role.
  • You will have knowledge of WINCC(OA).

The Platform Management System (PMS) Control and Indication Team:

You will be providing technical support for the teams that have a focus on testing within the Verification and Validation stage of the Engineering Lifecycle. The PMS Control and Indication Team develop and design software that integrates into the platform for both Marine Systems and Control Systems Functions which will require testing in a facility and necessary evidence produced to support safe delivery to the Platform for test, commissioning and in service.

We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
