Role description:
In this role you will be responsible for the successful delivery of all IM&T capital programmes and projects, ensuring alignment with business and transformation objectives. You will manage a multi-million pound IM&T Capital Portfolio and lead the annual Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, driving effective prioritisation and governance.
You will deliver critical capabilities that support organisational performance and innovation. The Programme Manager position plays a key part in coordinating delivery across a complex internal and external partner landscape.
Core Duties:
- Lead delivery of IT programmes and projects: Oversee end-to-end management, reporting, and successful delivery of IT projects, ensuring lessons learned are captured and applied to drive continuous improvement.
- Drive planning, governance, and stakeholder management: Manage inputs to the yearly financial planning process, enforce robust governance aligned to organisational standards, and coordinate key stakeholders to ensure delivery to time, cost, and quality.
- Provide strategic leadership and portfolio oversight: Support senior leadership with insights and reporting, shape the Digital Strategy and delivery roadmap, and ensure effective integration, dependency management, and performance tracking across the IT portfolio.
- Lead and develop high-performing teams: Provide clear direction, set objectives, and foster a positive, inclusive culture while managing resources, improving performance, supporting career development, and leading teams through change and continuous improvement.
- Manage programme costs and budgets with transparent stakeholder communication, support risk and investment decision processes, and take responsibility for financial governance within the IT Capital programme.
Essential skills:
- A recognised project management qualification (accredited by APM, PMI or PRINCE).
- Comprehensive knowledge of PM governance and assurance processes.
- Experience of managing IT portfolios and implementations.
- Experience of team management.
