What you’ll be doing:
As a Senior Mission & Information Systems Engineer, you will coordinate activities across delivery teams to ensure effective execution. You will lead the Logical Domain, delivering mission system capabilities with a focus on simulation for training and mission rehearsal. You will develop and present design options, produce design documentation, and create system models to progress concepts into deliverable solutions. Your role involves designing and delivering integrated aircraft mission systems aligned to programme requirements, ensuring robust, high-quality outcomes.
Core duties:
- Coordinate teams and oversee Mission Systems ETS (Training Systems) simulation for training and rehearsal
- Produce design review artefacts to required maturity
- Ensure regular inputs to management and technical reviews
- Collaborate with partners on models and designs using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Oversee Air System Specification, including requirements flow
- Manage risks, critical decisions, issues, and recovery actions
- Deliver outputs, support reviews, and engage cross-discipline stakeholders
- Support and guide junior engineers in daily tasks
Essential Skills:
- Proven experience leading and managing teams
- Degree OR HNC in a relevant STEM subject (Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical, Physics, Maths, or Science)
- Experience in aerospace or a similar engineering/technology industry
- Good systems engineering and lifecycle knowledge
- Ability to research and apply system design data to complex problems
- Knowledge/experience in mission systems and simulation tools
The Mission Systems Engineering Integration Team:
You will join a newly established multi-site team focused on the design and implementation of aircraft mission systems. You will be understanding requirements and liaising with suppliers (e.g. radar and equipment providers), as well as collaborating with internal engineering delivery teams, including software, systems, electrical, weapons, and structural design functions.
