As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will:

  • Design and analyse complex steel structures using Eurocodes, British Standards and BAE standards whilst applying your expertise in regulations including LOLER, Codes of Compliance, Weld Specifications and Geometric Tolerance.
  • Interpret data from analytical techniques, support manufacturing, assembly, lifting, handling and the overall installation of submarine structures.
  • Be responsible for the design and analysis of complex steel structures utilising Eurocodes, British Standards and BAE standards.
  • Interpret data within a wide range of computer-based analytical techniques.
  • Support the manufacturing, assembly, lifting, handling and installation processes of Submarine Structures.
  • Support with the production of concept drawings, layouts and other technical outputs.

You will need to hold an Engineering Degree BEng/MEng or have the equivalent experience. You are required to have gained Civil / Manufacturing / Structural Based and Chartered Engineer CEng status or Incorporated IEng status nearing CEng status. You will need a good expertise within structural steel analysis and design. You will need to be experienced in mechanical engineering and/or structural steelwork with knowledge of lifting handling and LOLER.

The Production Engineering Department team:

By joining us in the team, you will work with our designers and engineers to conduct engineering assessments that support the build process, contribute to equipment development and provide operational and production support for safety‐critical systems within a rapidly growing programme.
