Gain hands-on experience manufacturing bespoke joinery products, including certified fire doorsets, timber windows and cupboards. Working alongside the Joinery Foreman, you will develop practical carpentry and joinery skills while completing formal training, building the knowledge and experience needed for a successful career in the industry.
What you’ll do:
- Learn new skills required to manufacture bespoke joinery items such as certificated fire doorsets, timber windows, and cupboards.
- Assist the Joinery Foreman by combining practical skills with formal training to develop professional carpentry and joinery skills.
- Assist qualified joiners with construction and installation projects.
- Measure, cut, shape, modify and assemble timber products.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean working environment.
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times.
- Attend college or training sessions as part of the apprenticeship programme.
- Record progress and complete apprenticeship coursework.
The successful candidate will receive structured workplace training under the guidance of our Joinery Foreman. Training will be provided through a combination of practical tasks and ‘in-job’ experience, covering how to measure, mark out, shape, and assemble a range of timber products, the correct and safe use of industrial machinery and hand tools, health & safety legislation, manual handling and safe working practices, and joinery materials, quality standards and customer service requirements. Training assessment will be conducted as set out by our Joinery Foreman, and you will be required to maintain evidence of skills gained as part of the apprenticeship programme.
Training outcome: Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there may be an opportunity to progress to a fully qualified joinery position for the right candidate.
