Badham Pharmacy is a family owned chain of 28 pharmacies across Gloucestershire and Bristol, serving patients since 1940, and with a long history of exceptional patient-centred care. This vacancy is in our busy Church Road branch and will be 37.5 hours a week. Hours of work will vary between the hours of 08.00am and 19.00pm Monday to Friday (one 19.00pm finish a week) and some Saturdays and Sundays on a rota basis (time given back in week for working these).
Our starting rates of pay are aligned to the National Living Wage. In addition we offer 29 days holiday a year (inclusive of all bank holidays), 20% discount in all of our shops, CUSHON pension scheme, discretionary Christmas bonus, and Blue Light Card membership (applied for separately).
The role is very rewarding, and you will make a difference to the patient healthcare of your local community. The Medicines Counter Assistant is a key member of the pharmacy team. You are the first person many customers will see when coming into the pharmacy, speak to when seeking healthcare advice and interact with when collecting a prescription or asking for help when they wish to purchase a medicine.
As a Medicines Counter Assistant you will provide advice to patients on a range of common ailments. You will appropriately sell over-the-counter medicines to patients and handle prescriptions within the pharmacy. You will work under the supervision of a responsible pharmacist, who will always be available should you need to refer a patient or seek advice.
You will have good general retail skills, be friendly and confident when dealing with customers plus enjoy providing consistent and excellent customer service. You will also be engaging with every customer around the many additional services we offer including the new Pharmacy First scheme.
We are ideally looking for a candidate with previous pharmacy or strong retail experience. The successful candidate will be expected to complete the NPA Interact (Medicines Counter Assistant) course, this will take approximately 6 months to complete during your probation period.
