Badham Pharmacy is a family owned chain of 27 pharmacies across Gloucestershire and Bristol, serving patients since 1940, and with a long history of exceptional patient‑centred care. This vacancy is for a delivery driver to support our pharmacies in Gloucester. This will be predominantly in the Brockworth area of the city but will include some deliveries in the city centre and other areas.
Core hours for this role are Thursday and Friday 0900‑1730pm, and there will be opportunities for additional shifts to provide relief cover for holidays and absence. Our rates of pay are £12.86 per hour. We also offer 29 days holiday a year (inclusive of all bank holidays), a 20% discount in all of our shops, CUSHON pension scheme, discretionary Christmas bonus, and Blue Light Card membership (applied for separately).
The role is very rewarding, and you will make a difference to the patient healthcare of your local community. The number of deliveries can vary but on an average day this can reach 70‑80 drops depending on the area. Our delivery drivers are a key member of the pharmacy team. You are responsible for delivering a range of medications to patients who are unable to collect it themselves, and rely on this service on a regular basis.
Your primary duties are to:
- Deliver completed prescriptions from the pharmacy to patients at home
- Check items are being delivered to the correct recipient/address
- Obtain signatures for successful deliveries or leave card advising patient to collect medication from branch
- Collect or return prescriptions from surgeries
- Handover medication to patient/nominated representative when verified
- Check exemption or correct charge paid where required
- Liaise with and support the branch to provide an excellent service to our patients
You will be provided with access to a company van for all deliveries. You must keep it clean and tidy and adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures at all times.
Requirements: Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have great local knowledge of the area in which you are delivering. Previous experience in delivery work, ideally multi‑drop, would be preferred. Previous experience in a driving role is also valued.
Training: The successful candidate will be expected to complete the NPA Interact (Delivering Medicines Safely and Effectively) course during the probation period.
