What You Will Contribute

The Electronic Apprentice will support our Field Service Engineers in delivering high-quality installation, maintenance, and repair services for electrical and electronic systems within water and gas quality equipment. This apprenticeship provides hands-on experience alongside formal training, developing technical skills and industry knowledge. This position will lead to a Field Service Engineer position.

Job Duties

  • Assist Field Service Engineers with installation, calibration, and maintenance of electrical/electronic components in water quality and gas systems.
  • Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot faults in electrical circuits, sensors, and control systems.
  • Support routine inspections and testing to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.
  • Follow health, safety, and environmental guidelines at all times.
  • Participate in on-the-job training and attend college for apprenticeship classes, exams and coursework.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions as part of field-based activities.

Education and Experience

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and Science is essential.

Qualifications

  • Interest in electrical/electronic engineering and water quality technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to build internal and external relationships.
  • Full UK driving license (or working towards) is desirable.
