What You Will Contribute
The Area Sales Manager is responsible for business development, all sales including Key account management across all market sectors and product lines.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with existing and new customers by understanding their businesses and proactively provide solutions as well as establish new business potentials in the UK.
- Independent field sales with regular face to face customer meetings.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company objectives, Sales KPI’s and revenue targets
- Maintain and grow key accounts and manage existing framework contacts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring a deep understanding of their needs and preferences.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting open communication, accountability, and a customer-centric mindset.
Communicating daily with UK sales team and attend UK Sales meetings.
- Be professionally active on social media with relevant thought leadership and digital sales approach.
- Present Key sales presentations when required to customers at business conferences and events.
- Identify new business opportunities and market trends to capitalize on growth opportunities which you track in the CRM system.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product development, and other departments such as Inside Sales, After Sales Support and/or Technical Sales Support etc. to optimize sales strategies and enhance the customer experience.
- Support pre sales requests, specifying products and technical configurations for various application needs.
- Prepare and issue quotation/ proposals across various markets, multiple products both liquid and gas detection.
- Record and progress sales opportunities, proactively follow up quotes with external sales and customers directly.
- Salesforce case management. Review, categorise and respond to queries received. Logging all correspondence onto customer account records.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, competitive landscape, and best practices in sales and sales leadership.
- Participate and report sales figured during local sales team meetings.
Documenting key order intake, notable sales developments, general activity leads, quotes, trials and forecasting.
- Attend and Assist in the planning and execution of trade fairs and events
- Handle customer complaints together with customer support team.
- Participate in role specific and recommended personal development training
Education and Experience
- Bachelor Degree preferable in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Technology, Environmental Engineering or related fields
- 5 years or more of professional experience in a similar role
- Demonstratable experience working with B2B customers, distributors, resellers and end users.
Skills
- Preferably experience and detailed knowledge in Water Quality and Gas Detection with view to enhance technical and practical skills in Municipal Water, Flow Instrumentation.
- Preferably Experienced with the UK Water sector and industrial applications. Clean and Waste Water.
- Environmental and process knowledge – desirable.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft office and CRM software
- Proven success producing business growth and working towards sales targets.
- Self-motivated, tenacious individual with excellent communication skills who brings “can do” motivation to work every day with a strong customer service focus.
- Strong organisational and prioritising skills
- Essential experience with inside sales, quote, order processing.
- Ability to engage, motivate, train customers and distributors
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with others across the organization to achieve shared objectives.
