What You Will Contribute

The Software Engineer provides support for cloud platform development and maintenance with regular oversight and mentorship.

This includes performing testing and validation, assisting with system implementations, and participating in agile development teams focused on Badger Meter cloud-based software platforms.

Essential Job Duties

  • Development & Implementation Design, develop and test software components for Badger Meter cloud-based software platforms
  • Write clean, maintainable code following established patterns and best practices
  • Assist with front-end and back-end development of user-facing systems
  • Support systems connected to deployed Io T hardware
  • Debug applications and resolve defects under guidance of senior team members
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain quality standards
  • Cloud Platform Support Assist with maintaining and improving cloud infrastructure services
  • Support deployment pipelines and containerised applications
  • Help troubleshoot customer issues related to platform functionality
  • Document technical implementations and procedures
  • Collaboration & Learning
  • Actively participate in agile ceremonies and sprint planning
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to understand system architecture
  • Learn and develop expertise in product domain knowledge
  • Contribute ideas and feedback during technical discussions
  • Support customer success and field technician teams with technical queries

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • 1+ years of software development experience or relevant education
  • Proficiency in Java Script/Node. js fundamentals
  • Proficiency in REACT
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Understanding of version control systems (Git/Git Hub)
  • Basic knowledge of cloud computing concepts
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently with appropriate guidance
  • Preferred Experience
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Familiarity with AWS services (Lambda, S3, EC2)
  • Knowledge of containerisation (Docker)
  • Understanding of CI/CD principles
  • Experience with Elastic Stack (ELK), Postgre SQL or My SQL databases
  • Knowledge of Java or PHP
