As a Mechanical Engineer, you will get to tackle diverse, real-world challenges from the ground up. Typically, this will involve going through the whole product life cycle. You will capture requirements; design, develop, document, test, and deliver through to production. Awerian's wide variety of intriguing projects, from proof-of-concept through to working prototypes, provide both intellectual and practical challenges. Using 3D CAD (SolidWorks) you’ll create and evolve a wide range of designs which may include products, assembly jigs, test equipment and instrumentation. There will also be opportunities to present proposed solutions through sketches, animations, and renderings as part of the build, testing and troubleshooting process.
Qualifications
- Experience with a CAD package, preferably Solidworks, or other packages such as Catia, Creo or AutoCAD.
- Experience in CAD design, manufacturing, design for manufacture, welding and fabrication design.
- Thermal simulation or thermal modelling experience.
- Experience using, or basic understanding of PDM (product data manager).
Desirable Requirements Include Experience In
- Design for integration with electronics/PCBs.
- Liaison with supply chains to jointly solve technical problems.
- Ruggedised design for challenging environments.
- Miniaturised design for small form factors.
- Active/passive cooling design.
- Additive manufacture.
- Expertise in use of hand tools, mechanical build processes.
