We are Bad Dinosaur, an award winning app development agency based in Edinburgh. We're a small team of creative folk who enjoy building amazing products for our lovely clients. Bad Dinosaur is not your typical agency: we believe in sticking to normal working hours and getting stuff done (we don't go for long tedious projects); we believe in enjoying the journey and having fun with our clients; we're flexible, agile and would rather build something to try it out than just talk about it for weeks. We work with clients who are looking to make a positive impact on the world. Check out our portfolio to see for yourself!
Oh, and one more thing: we're all-in on AI-assisted development, so you'll be using Claude Code day to day. It's part of how we build fast and keep things fun, and we'd expect you to be comfortable getting stuck in with it (or keen to, if it’s new to you). It's not about replacing the thinking, it's about spending less time on the boring bits and more on the interesting problems.
Don't panic if you haven't got experience in some of the specific tech above -- we're happy to teach and mentor you from day 1 but you'll need to have a base level of experience in line with below.
You’ll be a great fit for us if you:
- Have 4+ years experience working in C# .NET (on the web or mobile);
- Prefer coding over writing documentation and sitting in meetings;
- Enjoy engaging with clients and understanding their needs, solving problems and leading;
- Want to have an impact on the product you're working on, contributing to its journey and collaborating on its design and functionality -- not afraid to write some user stories if you need to;
- Love problem solving and being a part of the conversation;
- Are comfortable working with AI dev tools like Claude Code (or excited to get to grips with them);
- Are keen on some greenfield development and new projects;
- Enjoy seeing your code go on to live production environments on a weekly basis (no more writing code which never sees the light of day!);
- Want a hybrid role, coming into our Edinburgh city centre studio on Hill Street for about half your working hours;
Our salaries are competitive and we have a bonus scheme that’s tied to performance of the business so you can have a real impact -- up to 8% bonus paid out quarterly too so you don't have to wait all year. You'll get 32 days holiday per year, a bunch of benefits including pool electric bicycles for you to use as you please (Cowboy e-bikes -- you should check them out!). We're a climate positive employer and offset our teams carbon footprint each month using Ecologi (also check it out!). We also have an enhanced maternity and paternity leave policy and offer part-time roles wherever possible.
Bad Dinosaur is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
