Overview

Please note that this is for a 24 month fixed term contract, at BACP we operate a hybrid working policy and this role will be required to attend BACP House in Lutterworth 2 days per week.

Accountabilities

  • To be responsible for the various processes associated with the BACP Individual Accreditation Schemes, ensuring systems are efficient and effective and that standards are being maintained throughout.
  • To provide in-depth information, technical support and handle complex queries from members applying for Accreditation through the various application routes. Including liaising with other departments to ensure members receive the high level of customer care they expect from BACP.
  • To facilitate the individual accreditation application process from initial receipt and eligibility criteria assessment, through to allocation for assessment and moderation as needed, formatting final decision reports and releasing all decisions, ensuring member CRM records are updated throughout the process.
  • To be responsible for following up all application fees that remain outstanding, taking payments, processing card and BACS payments and refunds. Advising on application discount fees available in liaison with the Support & Inclusion Officers.
  • To administer and coordinate member tele-surgeries, taking payment and liaising with assessors, to provide an effective service to members.
  • To support the review and development of existing and new accreditation schemes, to include providing feedback during development and the creation of related documentation and guidance.
  • Liaise with external agencies to process applications received under a reciprocal agreement. Collate all required documentation to determine if an application is successful. Carry out all administrative CRM updates as necessary. Occasional contact with professional bodies who are members of the Partnership of Counselling and Psychotherapy Bodies (PCPB) in relation to dual membership applications.

Knowledge & experience

  • Qualified to A level standard or equivalent.
  • Significant experience of working within a fast-moving administrative environment, preferably with an understanding of accreditation schemes requiring a customer focussed can-do attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to provide a high level of customer support, adapting to audience as appropriate.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • A strong team player with willingness to support others and always open to taking on new challenges.
  • Ability to work alone, act on own initiative, problem-solve and organise and prioritise own workload, knowing when to seek support or report to team leader.
  • Experience of accurate data collation, handling and analyses, ideally within CRM or membership databases. Ability to keep accurate and up-to-date records in line with data protection requirements.
  • Good level of computer literacy skills across different systems, MS Office and ability to learn and adapt to new IT systems.
  • Ability to follow set procedures, assess against eligibility criteria and take on new tasks, absorbing new information and skills, whilst maintaining the constant flow and high work-volume.
  • Ability to take ownership within project work, working across teams and providing regular feedback and updating reports.
  • Knowledge of the counselling profession (advantageous but not essential).
