The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial driving and have the ability to operate various types of vehicles. This role is essential for ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining excellent communication with our warehouse staff and clients.
Duties:
- Operate HGV vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working order.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any questions or concerns from clients.
Qualifications:
- Valid commercial driving licence with appropriate endorsements for the vehicles being operated.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and clients.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
