We are seeking an experienced Class 2 HIAB crane driver to carry out trench infill and backfill reinstatement operations for our regional utilities client for duties in and around Cornwall. This well paid position is for ongoing holiday, sickness cover and has the very real potential of becoming a permanent position for the successful applicant.

About you:

  • You must have previous experience using a lorry mounted loader (HIAB) as the work demands a high level of competency.
  • The equipment used will be a crane with a clam attachment. If you do not have an entitlement for this attachment we will provide the appropriate training at no cost to you.
  • If your HIAB ticket has lapsed we will refresh it, again, at no charge to you.
  • Street Works ticket and/or SHEA Gas training are desirable, but not essential as full training is also given.
  • You must be clean shaven for health and safety requirements.
  • On occasions you will drive a van to transport tools and roadworks barriers at the same rate of pay as above.
  • The work will involve some manual aspects with the occasional use of a ‘whacker/compactor’.

Pay:

  • You are guaranteed 9 hours per day, the first 7½ hours are paid at £18.34 p/h, after this you will be paid £27.51 on weekday shifts.
  • There are optional Saturdays paid at £27.51 p/h and Sundays paid at £36.68 p/h.

This is an ongoing role with temp to perm opportunities for the right candidate.
