We are seeking a reliable and skilled Van Driver to join our team. You must have Class B +E on your licence and have trailer towing experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while ensuring excellent customer service. This role requires effective communication skills, a strong understanding of vehicle operation, and the ability to navigate various routes. You will be assisting loading and unloading so physical fitness is a must. You will be working out of the area surrounding Exeter but own transport is essential due to getting to work location. You will undertake regular training in a classroom environment. Must have a current street works qualification. The role is ongoing and for the right candidate could lead to a temp to perm position. 37.75 hours Monday to Friday will O/T available. £15.64 per hour.

  • Safely drive and operate the van plus trailer to deliver goods to designated locations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Load and unload goods, ensuring they are secured properly for transport.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
  • Demonstrate mechanical knowledge by performing basic maintenance on the vehicle as needed.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
  • Assist in warehouse duties when not driving, including inventory management and organisation.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driving licence with a clean driving record (max 6 points); experience in commercial driving is preferred.
  • Must be able to tow a trailer and have experience of towing.
  • Previous experience as a Van Driver or Delivery Driver is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge to perform routine checks and maintenance on the vehicle.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a warehouse environment.
  • Familiarity with flatbed vehicles is a plus but not essential.
