Teaching Assistant job role:
Provide patient, caring and calm support to children with special educational needs and additional learning requirements.
Support pupils with their learning and development, adapting activities and approaches to meet their individual needs.
Assist children who may experience behavioural, emotional or social difficulties, using positive and consistent behaviour-support strategies.
Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, helping them to feel safe, confident and included within the school environment.
Encourage children to develop their independence, confidence and social skills through appropriate support and encouragement.
Work closely with teachers and other members of the support team to ensure pupils receive consistent and effective support.
Communicate effectively with staff and families regarding pupils progress, wellbeing and individual needs.
Promote an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where every child is valued and encouraged to achieve their potential.
