The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

To support the northern operations teams in the delivery of the best commercial outcome available by maximising our commercial opportunity and reducing our risk exposure. Ensuring through project visits and engagement with the teams they are managing the Contract appropriately. To drive the business' behaviours and values through leadership, communication, and training.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Support the Northern team undertaking the live Contracts, in particular the senior leadership teams.
  • Provide contractual guidance where required to assist our project teams.
  • Assist with when required or requested key claims/compensation events/early warnings that the teams may be pursuing.
  • Monitor through the project financial and commercial work alongside the project manager to ensure reporting of site performance (profitability, opportunity, and risk) and report to the divisional director monthly, or where any concerns are raised.
  • Prepare with the operations teams the monthly forecasting for review by the divisional Director.
  • Drive and promote the development of the teams to ensure all commercial team members improve their competency.
  • Understand and develop relationships with our clients and their teams and attend senior meetings.
  • Provide support to the Projects tender team to ensure contract reviews are completed and key risks and opportunities identified and complete the commercial governance documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide through leadership positive commercial outcomes from our live projects.
  • Monitor/review the profitability of each project and highlight any concerns or opportunities.
  • Review and provide appropriate advice to the teams where necessary.
  • Identify and drive improvement initiatives in line with the strategic needs of the business.
  • Provide input into tender process and participate in risk review meetings.

Other Duties

  • Monitoring commercial performance of the live Contracts.
  • Monitor, develop and report on key performance indicators.
  • Monitoring leading & retrospective behavioural indicators.
  • Participate in engagement tours with sites.
  • Review of training requirements for the Project’s team members.
  • Review of site commercial procedures/processes.
  • Promote and share lessons learnt.
  • Assist in development reviews.

Physical Working Environment

Office based in Burscough, with travel nationwide as required.

Knowledge, Experience And Qualifications Required

  • A Focus on providing excellence in commercial management.
  • Ability to work with our teams to identify improvement opportunities to increase profitability and manage risk.
  • Experience within Piling and Foundations sector.
  • Experience within the civil engineering field would be an advantage.
  • Technical knowledge of a variety of forms of contract with an in-depth understanding of NEC Contracts and experience of large infrastructure projects.
  • Commercial experience within the construction industry.
  • Excellent people management skills and a proven record of success in supporting construction teams.
  • Team player and approachable to all whatever their level of responsibility.
  • Full driving licence and can work nationally throughout the UK.
  • Have good links within the industry and with potential clients.
