The Geotechnical Sub Alliance (GSA) is at the forefront of the Sizewell C nuclear power station development - one of the UK’s largest and most exciting infrastructure programmes. We’re responsible for preparing the foundations of the entire site: designing and constructing cut‑off walls, retaining structures, soil improvements and more. Using advanced geotechnical engineering and world‑class construction technologies, this is a rare opportunity to contribute to a national project that will shape the UK’s clean‑energy future.

We are seeking an organised and proactive Training Advisor to support the effective delivery of training and competence management across the project. You will work closely with operational teams, HR and delivery partners to ensure training requirements are clearly defined, scheduled and achieved, supporting workforce readiness in a regulated, safety‑critical environment. The role focuses on coordinating training activity, maintaining compliance and providing clear advice on competence requirements.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Train Coordination & Planning: Act as a key point of contact for training requirements, translating role‑specific competence needs into clear training plans and coordinating delivery in line with mobilisation and programme timelines. Liaise with external providers to arrange and validate training against project standards.
  • Compliance & Competence Assurance: Monitor training compliance, qualifications and certifications across the workforce, identifying gaps, risks and upcoming expiries. Ensure records are accurate, up to date and audit‑ready, escalating risks where required.
  • Stakeholder Support & Advice: Work closely with HR, site leadership and partner organisations to ensure consistent application of training standards. Provide guidance to managers and supervisors on training and competence requirements, and support regular reporting on progress and risks.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to improving training processes, systems and documentation, capturing feedback from stakeholders and learners to enhance effectiveness and delivery.

What We’re Looking For

  • CIPD Level 3–5 in Learning & Development, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience working in a regulated, safety‑critical, construction or project‑based environment
  • Experience supporting training coordination, delivery or compliance in an operational setting
  • Good understanding of competence, qualification and certification management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to advise and influence
  • Well‑organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office and training or competence management systems
