Overview
Main Purpose Of The Job
To assist in the day-to-day operational site control of contracts within the UK, focusing on safety, quality, productivity, cost control, performance to programme and customer service. Also, to assist in the management of contracts such that they perform in line with budget and to maintain a motivated, effective and safety conscious workforce.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- On-site management of projects covering the technical, administration and commercial aspects of the project
- Prepare budgets to ensure that the job will return sufficient money and to ensure that there has been no shortfalls within the estimate
- Programming of works
- Prepare job specific method statements/contract plans
- Liaise with Plant Department to organise plant requirements and date required
- Liaise with purchasing on ordering materials for the various sites
- Liaise with clients keeping them up to date on site works and any changes in costs/extension of time/extra work
- Ensure that works are carried out safely and in accordance with the requirements
- Monitoring and reporting on progress of the works
- Checking of weekly costs and management of project budgets
- Assist commercial team with respect of final accounts and weekly values
- Ensure the Company's core values are embedded in all decisions made and shape your behaviour
Physical Working Environment
Site-based, with travel as required. Predominantly based in the North of England.
Knowledge, Experience And Qualifications Required
- Civil Engineering related degree, preferably with some geotechnical content
- Knowledge of basic engineering techniques
- Experience within civil engineering or construction field
- Experience within the Piling and Foundations sector would be an advantage
- Mini-piling experience preferred but not essential
- Full UK Driving Licence
- CSCS Card
- Computer Literate including good working knowledge of Excel & Word
