Main Purpose Of The Job
To provide onsite Health, Safety and Environmental support on the Protos Carbon Capture Project.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- You will undertake site HS&E inspections on construction and rail projects.
- You report directly to the northern operations team with functional support from the Health, Safety & Environment Director.
- Providing direct assistance in the preparation, development, maintenance and implementation of the existing Health, Safety and Wellbeing management systems.
- Work in accordance with site hours or as directed by the line manager.
- You should have a full clean driving license with the willingness to travel.
- You are responsible for ensuring your vehicle is maintained and fit to use at all times on the public highway.
- You will conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times, leading by example, promoting a positive culture and give factual and correct advice or guidance to others.
- You are required to maintain your continual professional development.
- You will advise office managers or nominated staff on statutory requirements relating to the maintenance and management of company owned or leased premises.
- Advise on all matters pertaining to the safety and well-being of all personnel on-site (including visitors and contractors) as well as ensuring the company meets its moral and legal responsibilities with regards to Health and Safety.
- Interpret legislative requirements, as well as sector, national and international standards, with the ability to incorporate into company processes, procedures and policies, and communicate the requirements to the senior management and workforce.
- You must report any Health and Safety related issues that require management action immediately for resolution.
- Suggest, communicate and promote initiatives for accident prevention and improvement opportunities.
- Implement the requirements of the Health and Safety Policies and Integrated Management System.
- Be responsible for own safety and the safety of others within the workplace, working in a safe, tidy and efficient manner, assisting in maintaining safety within the workplace.
- Support Project Teams to achieve company and client expectations with regard to Health and Safety on Risk Assessment, Method Statements, Toolbox Talks, Evacuation Plans, Fire Plans, Work Package Plans, Emergency Plans, and the Safety training of operatives.
- Attend Client Health and Safety meetings and develop & maintain strong relationships with client teams.
- Produce management reports, newsletters and bulletins.
- Assist with accident and incident investigations.
- Ensure the Company’s core values are embedded in all decisions made and shape your behaviour.

Required Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications
- Experience in this role while working for a ground engineering or civil engineering contractor.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate, Tech IOSH Status or MIIRSM, and CSCS qualified.

- Formal Accident Investigation training SEATs.
