The Marine Bulk Import Facility (MBIF) is a major temporary marine infrastructure project supporting the construction of the Sizewell C nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast.

The facility enables the delivery of large construction materials by sea and includes a 463m-long jetty, steel and precast structures, and a cantilevered traveller system (Cantitravel) for modular construction.

Key Project Features Relevant to Roles

Construction Methodology : Marine piling, modular steel and precast concrete assembly, cantilevered traveller erection system.

Workstreams : Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), Test Piling, and Main Works.

Delivery Timeline : August 2025 – November 2026.

Contract Model : NEC3 Option C – Target Cost with Activity Schedule.

The Role

This is a

12-month fixed-term contract .

To assist in the day-to-day operational site control of contracts within the UK, focusing on safety, quality, productivity and cost control.

Also, to assist in maintaining a motivated, effective and safety-conscious workforce.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • On-site management of projects covering the technical, administration and quality aspects of the project.
  • Responsible for the generation of construction records including all attachments such as test results as per Inspections and Test Plans (ITPs)
  • Responsible for Quality Control and custodian of the Quality Record Packs (QRP’s) - as per ITPs
  • Assist in the completeness of the redline drawings
  • Report any quality deviations to the Section Engineer and assist with the non-Conformance Record (NCR) process.
  • Assist with the programming of works including the 3 Week Look Ahead.
  • Assist in preparing indent/requisition needed for the project
  • Prepare job specific Method Statements/ Risk Assessments / Task Briefing Sheets / Inspection and Test Plans
  • (ITPs).
  • Assist the Supervisor in generating the Start of Shift (SOS) Briefing and assist in their delivery.
  • Ensure all daily plant maintenance records are filed and available for review.
  • Liaise with the Section Engineer keeping them up to date on site works and any potential changes in costs/extension of time/extra work.
  • Ensure that works are carried out safely and in accordance with the requirements.
  • Monitoring and reporting on progress of the works.
  • Ensure the Company’s core values are embedded in all decisions made and shape your behaviour.
  • Ensure all records are sent to the office for archiving.
  • Awareness of the contract and contractual implication
  • Comply with BSL and Project Safety, Quality & Environment requirements
  • What We’re Looking For
  • Civil Engineering related degree, preferably with some geotechnical and or marine content.
  • Knowledge of basic engineering techniques (including setting out)
  • Experience within civil engineering or construction field.
  • Experience within the Marine and or Piling and Foundations sector would be an advantage.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • CSCS Card.
  • Computer Literate including good working knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point and MS Project.
  • CAD skill will be beneficial.
  • Physical Working Environment

This is a full-time, site-based role, with occasional visits to factories and/or external facilities as required by the project.

The role includes a requirement to undertake shift work in line with project needs.
