The Role
Provide clarity on Mini Piling assets, improve equipment standards, and uplift workshop capability through structured processes, condition assessments and targeted knowledge transfer.
- What You'll Be Doing
- 1. Develop and Implement a Mini Piling Asset Management Process
Design and implement a clear, repeatable process for cataloguing all Mini Piling (MP) equipment, including registering quantities, specifications, condition status and asset relationships (compatibility, groupings, dependencies).
- Deliver a complete MP asset register.
• Develop three documented processes
- Asset registration & updating procedure
- Asset relationship mapping procedure
- Condition grading & action recommendation method
- Provide data‑driven recommendations to support Cap Ex planning, including identification of critical assets nearing end‑of‑life and potential replacement priorities.
2. Complete a Full Condition Assessment Programme and Introduce a Standard Inspection Method
Review the current process for the inspections of all MP equipment returning from site and including current condition assessment methods (incl. wear criteria, reporting templates, refurbishment scopes and photographic documentation).
- Develop a programme for the inspection of 100% of MP assets
- Produce a standard inspection procedure and damage report framework adopted by the workshop team.
- Provide a lifecycle recommendation (repair / refurb / replace) for each asset category.
- 3. Deliver a Mini Piling Technical Upskilling Programme for Plant Mechanics
Provide mentoring, participate in toolbox talks, and practical guidance to improve mechanic competence in MP systems, equipment operation, inspection and fault diagnosis.
- Organise structured training sessions with relevant OEMS / Suppliers.
- Conduct baseline and final skills assessments for each mechanic.
- Demonstrate a minimum 20% improvement in team competency scores.
- Act as primary technical reference for MP queries throughout the period.
- What We’re Looking For
- Extensive hands‑on experience with Mini Piling equipment, systems and tooling.
- Strong mechanical background with proven diagnostic and problem‑solving ability.
- Ability to mentor and transfer knowledge to less experienced colleagues.
- Good understanding of equipment inspection techniques and QA processes.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Appropriate CSCS card. (desirable)
- Full UK driving licence (desirable for site travel).
