The Role:

What You'll Be Doing:

• Deliver competitive designs (holistic rather than simply pile element).
• Ensure design efficiency and buildability.
• Take full accountability for creating designs that are not only efficient but also practical and buildable, with input from collaboration with the operational teams.
• Provide technical and design support to all BSL departments and be fully integrated to the estimating teams and operational teams to aid their performance.
• Analyse the project input in order to interrogate it, reach an agreement and integrate it into a design solution.
• Contribute to the continued improvement of the Engineering process within the department.

What We’re Looking For:

• Masters level qualification in Civil Engineering.
• Competent in the design of piles and embedded retaining walls is required.
• Experienced in the design of micropiles, minipiles, ground anchors, soil nailing, soil mixing and all grouting would be advantageous.
• Geological knowledge of ground conditions throughout the UK.
• Knowledge of construction processes, methods and site practices.
• Familiarity with software packages such as WALLAP would be advantageous.
• Agility and ability to work at speed on multiple workstreams concurrently and work under pressure.
• Willingness to attend the office and work as part of fast-paced teams.
• Ability to independently recognise their knowledge and skill limitations and the limitations of those they will be working with.
• Resilient, assertive, humble, optimistic and open to change.
