About You
We’re seeking a results-focused, innovative, self-driven, and well-qualified individual to join our talented team as our Strategic Sourcing Engineer. In this role, you will strengthen the technical integrity and supply stability of components used in equipment by evaluating supplier capability, identifying supply chain risks during product development, influencing engineering decisions on component selection, and guiding sourcing strategies that promote manufacturability, lifecycle continuity, and globally sustainable component availability across Dymax equipment platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop technically capable suppliers for equipment components by evaluating manufacturing capability, quality systems, process control, and capacity to ensure suppliers meet Dymax technical and reliability requirements.
- Strengthen component sourcing decisions during New Product Introduction (NPI) by reviewing electrical and mechanical specifications with Engineering, evaluating supplier capability, identifying lifecycle risks, and recommending technically and commercially viable alternatives before product launch.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks for critical components by monitoring lifecycle status, single-source exposure, and long lead-time technologies and recommending qualified alternative sourcing strategies.
- Improve manufacturability and supply continuity through early design collaboration by reviewing engineering drawings, schematics, and bills of material and recommending component standardization and design-for-manufacturability improvements.
- Evaluate and qualify new suppliers within the Dymax supply base by conducting technical capability assessments and supplier audits and collaborating with Quality and Engineering to resolve prototype and production component issues.
- Monitor component availability risks affecting Dymax equipment products by tracking supplier capacity, market conditions, and lifecycle trends and recommending mitigation strategies before supply disruption occurs.
You should have:
- BA/BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalency.
- 5+ years in technical sourcing, manufacturing engineering, supplier quality, or supply chain.
- Experience with components such as PCB assemblies, power electronics, optical systems, or machined parts.
- ERP proficiency required; JD Edwards EnterpriseOne preferred.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Strong analytical and cross-functional communication capability.
