About You
We’re seeking a result-focused, innovative, self-driven, and well-qualified individual to join our talented team as a Temporary Shipping & Receiving Operator. Based out of our Torrington, Connecticut location, you will maintain the accuracy and integrity of shipping services by verifying the count and the quality of outgoing items while meeting lines shipped on time (LSOT) needs, and by immediately acting on discrepancies and quality issues.
Responsibilities
- Ensure items shipping meet international and domestic HazMat, IATA, and freighting compliance.
- Verify all outgoing shipments by meticulously inspecting, counting, and recording items dispatched.
- Accurately complete carrier paperwork and bills of laden, and manage pickup times and deliveries.
- Meet lines shipped on-time metrics by order planning with the Production groups.
- Create dependable Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) records through accurate input entries.
- Maintain minimal damages and safe internal transportation practices by exceptional secure handling and operation of powerlifting equipment, power jacks, hand trucks, and company truck.
- Bring discrepancies or concerns immediately to the attention of the appropriate department.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent; associates degree preferred.
- IATA and HazMat certification preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in handling, shipping, and receiving of hazardous materials.
- Some knowledge and experience working with ERPs; JD Edwards Enterprise-1 preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
