As Senior Commercial Finance Manager you will be accountable for providing strategic financial performance analysis and business partner support to the Commercial Team (Sales Leadership, Customer Marketing, Revenue Growth Management (RGM)) and the other relevant UK functions, thus driving a culture of performance across the business and strong governance. You will be an integral member of the Finance team within the North-East Cluster and the UK Leadership Team. You will play a key role in supporting & driving business decisions that will result in superior business performance. In doing so, you will play a key role in creating the legacy of the Bacardi business. The role is based in London, with a large percentage of time interacting with the local teams as well as Regional Finance and Global Finance. You will be expected to understand the business from the bottom up, so time in the trade with the sales team is critical to success. Some travel will be required, primarily within the North-East Cluster.
Responsibilities
- Act as the financial co‑pilot of the UK Business Unit Director; lead budgeting, financial forecasting, performance analysis and R&O for UK domestic business.
- Provide timely and actionable performance analysis on Volume, Net Sales Value and Gross Profit and the business drivers behind like promotional activity analysis, customer and brand mix, ROI of GtN investments etc.
- Support & challenge commercial teams with management/control of pricing, discounts, and trade spend opportunities and effectiveness incl. approvals of spend and rebate management.
- Lead the financial budgeting and planning process for the commercial team, ensuring that pricing, discount and trade spends are reflected accurately and are executed according to plan.
- Identify, evaluate and communicate risks and opportunities to the business in a timely manner.
- Challenge the status‑quo; continuously look to reduce complexity and simplify our processes across planning, forecasting, reporting, rebates management, performance measurement and including how we use our supporting systems and tools (i.e. SAP, BI, Anaplan, Amalia etc.) to drive greater focus on value added business partnering.
- Ensure adequacy of controls across GTN and strong stewardship and compliance. Ensure audits (internally and externally) are fully supported and action plans are being addressed (incl. SOX).
- Build and foster solid business partnering relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Active leadership in the Regional Commercial Finance network team.
Creating a Winning Team
- Build a sense of community across Region, Cluster and Country Finance teams – drive best practice sharing and adoption across the region by actively engaging in cross Cluster Projects and initiatives.
- Motivate, coach and develop the team to ensure the Cluster is consistently challenging the status quo to simplify ways of working and focus time on driving business growth.
- Coordinate the Help Sell functions (Finance, RGM, Supply Chain, Commercial Ops, Category) to create an efficient business performance management framework for the Commercial teams and the UK Business Director.
Skills
- Strong track record of performance and delivery within Finance in a Consumer goods company, with a proven history of delivery in a managerial role.
- Proven ability to work seamlessly within a matrix organisation.
- Solid experience of managing a P&L, Rebates, Forecasting, ROI calculations, Excise & Duty impacts, risk management, Price structures and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical skills, comfortable with ambiguity, able to take complex ideas and summarise into concise insights and recommendations.
- Effective communication skills, able to influence comfortably with senior leaders and motivate change.
- Process focused with an understanding of end‑to‑end business processes and their financial impacts.
- Ability to identify root cause issues and develop plans to resolve.
- Skilled at organising and prioritising multiple projects and resource constraints to optimise results.
- Proven ability to coach and develop winning teams.
- Advanced expertise in MS Office including Excel and Power BI (Pivots, Vlookup, Conditional Functions, etc.), data collection and analytics.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency in English language.
Preferred Experiences
- Experience in the Spirits Industry is an advantage.
- Experience in additional functions beyond the ones listed above.
- BA in Finance, Accounting, Business (or equivalent).
- Accounting qualification such as ACA, CA or CIMA.
