The Senior Process Lead is accountable for driving sustainable performance and capability building across the Operational area – from Raw Materials through Distilling and Maturation – through the deployment and continuous evolution of the TPM (Total Production Management) system. This role focuses on leading people, building capability and embedding a high-performance culture.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be strong and proven in delivering a CI culture, have strong leadership skills and the ability to build a collaborative, high-performance culture. You should be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and lead by example. Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail are essential, along with the confidence to challenge decisions and demonstrate a true Founder’s mentality.
Responsibilities- Implementation of TPM/CI Strategy
- Support the development of the long term Whisk(e) Category Strategy
- Be lead for local implementation of Global CI
- Lead, coach and develop operational teams to build self-sufficient problem solving and CI capability
- Act as a change agent, embedding ManEx behaviours and standards across shifts and functions
- Set expectations and coach leaders (Line Leads, Shift Leads) on Tier management discipline and performance ownership
- Build a strong continuous improvement culture, not dependency on a CI expert
- Own and evolve the TPM system (DMS, Tier, Loss Elimination) within the Whisk(e)y Category
- Ensure systems are effectively used to drive performance not just deployed
- Drive performance review routines, ensuring clear linkage between losses, actions and results
- Provide visibility and challenge on performance gaps to site leadership
- Prioritise and lead resolution of critical/chronic losses impacting site performance
- Coach teams in structured problem solving (RCA, 5 Why’s etc) to build internal capability
- Ensure data is used to drive focused, high impact improvement plans
- Planning with Operations, Maintenance, Planning and Quality to drive end to end performance improvement
- Lead cross functional alignment on priorities, trade-offs and improvement plans
- Influence without authority to remove barriers and accelerate delivery
- Translate site and regional CI priorities into clear, executable plans
- Support consistency of ManEx deployment across lines/departments
- Share best practices and drive standardisation and reapplication
- Host and chair cross functional improvement sessions
- Regular (weekly min) travel to Maturation Sites (Poniel 25 mins from Glasgow)
- Occasional (monthly) travel to Distilleries - incl Aberfeldy, Aultmore, Craigellachie, Macduff, Royal Brackla and Teeling
- Engagement with Industry Best Practice - Scotch Whisky Research Institute, Scotch Whisky Association
- Demonstrated self-motivated with a Continuous Improvement mindset, with experience identifying opportunities implementing process improvements, and driving operational efficiency
- Strong team leadership, ability to lead a small project team
- Interpersonal collaboration skills
- Proven knowledge and implementation of CI tools and Techniques
- Ability to work with data and information - AI, Python, Other Modern Tools Desired
- Analytical skills to implement correct actions and ability to assimilate technical data to support recommendation
- Problem solving and risk management, including escalation and resolution
