The Role

We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Human Resources Officer to support the effective delivery of our HR function. You will play a key role in ensuring best practice across recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and staff wellbeing, helping to create a positive and supportive working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Human Resources Manager with all administrative related tasks including compiling letters, documents, and other HR-related information.
  • Take responsibility for coordinating the onboarding process, including inductions, references, right to work checks, DBS documentation, and monitoring probationary periods with managers.
  • Provide support to managers and colleagues on day-to-day HR queries, ensuring the Human Resources Manager is informed of any matters requiring escalation.
  • Liaise with the occupational health provider as required.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of learning and development events.
  • Support senior staff with employment relations matters and other internal procedures.
  • Take responsibility for accurate data entry into our HRIS and produce regular and ad-hoc reports.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in an HR or administrative role.
  • A strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
  • CIPD qualification (Level 3 or above).
  • Experience working within the charity, healthcare, or social care sector.
  • Understanding of safeguarding requirements.
