BAC Universal is seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Sales Assistant to join our team. As a Sales Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service, assisting with sales operations, and contributing to the overall success of our showroom. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Assist customers in identifying their needs and recommending appropriate products or solutions based on their requirements.
- Demonstrate use of merchandise upon request.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing showroom environment to enhance the customer shopping experience.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using our point-of-sale (POS) system including counting and balancing cash register and receipts.
- Handle customer inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and courteously, ensuring customer satisfaction at all times.
- Collaborate with the sales team to achieve sales targets and promote sales initiatives, such as promotions or special offers.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including restocking shelves, conducting stock counts, and monitoring product levels and reporting discrepancies to supervisor.
- Stay up-to-date on product knowledge, industry trends, and competitor offerings to effectively communicate with customers and provide informed recommendations.
- Assist in merchandising activities, such as creating product displays and promotional signage, to drive sales and highlight featured products.
- Support other showroom activities and administrative tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in sales or retail management is a plus.
- 3-5 years prior experience in retail sales, customer service, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical contracting products or electrical supplies is advantageous but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a dynamic retail environment.
- Proficiency in using computers and basic software applications, including POS systems and Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability, initiative, and a positive attitude.
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule including rotations (7:00am every other month) and weekends.
