We’re on the lookout for a big-hearted and first-class People Partner to join our People team here at Dishoom. As a People Partner, you will work closely with our cafés to support and coach the team, focusing on team engagement and experience. You will use data to support conversations and be a great thinking partner for our teams. Building great relationships is super important to get things done and will be essential for your success.
You will be the link between café operations and the People Team, always looking at ways to improve what we do, developing initiatives and proactively working across functions to provide and work towards solutions. We’re a growing team (nearly 2,000 Dishoom-wallas!) and this role is hugely important in supporting this. You will be on the ground making sure our teams are happy and ensuring we are focusing on the right things.
The role will report to our Head of People and will be based in Babu House (our head office) in Shoreditch. As a People Partner, it’s likely you’ll spend more time in our cafes. Equally, we recognise that our team sometimes needs some peace and quiet to get things done, so we can be flexible about where you want to work.
Responsibilities
- Working alongside the People Team to identify patterns within cafes and across Dishoom, partnering with relevant stakeholders to reach the right solutions.
- Develop measurable and thoughtful initiatives to improve team engagement with wellbeing at the forefront.
- Use people data to support conversations and influence decisions whilst taking a people-first approach.
- Drive team engagement surveys creating an actionable plan. Working closely with Operations to make Dishoom a happier and healthier place for our teams to work.
- Coach and develop our Babus in people management, providing the right tools and guidance.
- Lead Babu training sessions, developing awareness and capability across our management teams, with emphasis on how we can make Dishoom a great place to work.
- Lead on People projects that focus on happy teams and a supportive work culture.
- Talent mapping and succession planning—working across teams to identify any areas of focus, future potential and risk to proactively plan.
- Manage and support on high-level ER cases; performance management to grievance, ensuring Babus are equipped and knowledgeable on certain processes.
About you
- You must have experience in a similar role – you are able to handle a stack of different scenarios and you’re used to juggling various stakeholders.
