Your role in our team:
- Lead the manufacture of a diverse range of ioCell type products and execute production runs for a range of ioCell type products.
- Maintain the highest standards of laboratory techniques while delivering production outputs.
- Manage your own schedule to balance the delivery of multiple cell types to meet commercial stock goals.
- Collaborate with Product & Process Development (PPD) and Quality Control (QC) teams to optimise production protocols for new cell types, including scale-up of culture conditions, cryopreservation, thawing & QC.
- Lead the transfer of new SOPs into the team as the production group representative.
- Drive validation of new cell culture systems and equipment to support expanded manufacturing output.
- Design and execute experiments to deliver data on manufacturing consistency to inform production process improvements.
- Present data to the team lead to support decisions on process improvements.
- Support junior team members with intellectual and practical guidance.
- Promote a proactive, continual improvement culture and systems to maintain high standards of service and good practice; identify opportunities to improve operations.
- Maintain a clean and organised laboratory space, including cleaning and maintenance as required.
- Compile data from experiments for review by the wider team and present findings in small forums.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to achieve project goals; communicate proactively to support effective team dynamics.
Qualifications and experience:
- Hold a minimum Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field of Biological Science.
- Demonstrate scientific rigour, operational skill and high work standards; process oriented with experience in developing, optimising and implementing workflows, protocols, procedures and resources in a quality management environment.
Essential experience:
- Extensive process development experience in a relevant industry.
- Human induced pluripotent stem cell biology, characterisation and culture systems.
- Experience with a range of iPSC-derived cell types.
- Process tech transfer experience.
- Excellent time management, organisation and communication skills.
Desirable experience (optional):
- Cell phenotyping and functional endpoint analysis (e.g., flow cytometry, qPCR, ICC, MEA).
- Expertise in continuous improvement (LEAN, 5S) and working within a quality management system.
- Automation and bioreactor operation experience.
- Experience in regulated environments to GLP, GMP or similar.
