About The Role
As a Skills Coach – Data, you will coach and mentor learners throughout their programme, supporting successful and timely achievement of outcomes. You will build effective, professional relationships with learners and employers while delivering engaging blended learning through one‑to‑one sessions, virtual group sessions, and digital interventions. You will apply coaching frameworks to support learners at every stage of their journey, including preparation for EndPoint Assessment (EPA), while ensuring high standards of quality, compliance, and learner experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Coach and mentor learners to progress, achieve, and reach their potential
- Deliver interactive and engaging one‑to‑one and group learning sessions
- Conduct skills gap analyses and develop individualised learning plans
- Support formative and summative assessment in collaboration with specialist trainers
- Maintain accurate learner records to meet quality and funding requirements
- Promote Equality & Diversity, Safeguarding, British Values, Prevent, and Health & Safety
- Embed Maths and English into learning delivery where appropriate
- Liaise effectively with employers and stakeholders
- Ability to contextualise the learning from our data programmes to employer and learner job roles.
- Take examples from the apprenticeship standards and transform them into real world scenarios using lived experiences, case studies and relevant data sets.
Essential Criteria
- GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Minimum of 2 years' relevant industry experience
- Strong data knowledge, including tools and concepts such as Excel, data sources, data cleaning, classification, visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik) and programming languages
- Level 3 Award in Education & Training (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards it
- Ability to travel as required
Desirable Criteria
- Level 4 Certificate in Education & Training (or equivalent)
- Recognised industry qualification at Level 3 or above (e.g., Data Technician, Data Analyst, Computer Science, Data Science)
Skills And Experience
- Experience coaching individuals and supporting behavioural change
- Delivering engaging learning to adult learners
- Developing SMART targets and individual learning plans
- Confident use of digital learning technologies
- Strong time management and ability to work independently
- Experience working in an accredited or regulated environment
