We are looking for an Admin Support Officer to join our Housing Management team at Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils, located at Endeavour House, 8 Russell Road, Ipswich, Suffolk IP1 2BX. The role is part-time (14.8 hours per week) and permanent. Salary: £27,694 – £31,022 per annum (pro rata).

About The Role

In this vital role you will provide comprehensive administrative and technical support to our Tenancy Services teams, helping to ensure smooth service delivery and high levels of customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to and redirecting customer enquiries, booking appointments, and producing written communications.
  • Administering tenancy changes and maintaining accurate tenant records.
  • Supporting financial processes including direct debits, refunds, and invoice management.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on projects and casework.
  • Promoting tenant engagement and supporting equality and diversity initiatives.
  • Ensuring compliance with GDPR, health and safety, and council policies.

About You

We are looking for a team player who is adaptable, diplomatic, and committed to continuous improvement. To be successful, you will have:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience in a relevant administrative or housing role.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience in financial administration and interpreting financial data.
