Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Council are looking to recruit a Voids Coordinator to join our team based in Great Wenham Operational Hub, Near Ipswich, Suffolk. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will earn a competitive salary of £37,280 - £44,075 per annum (pro rata for part time).

About the role
Our Housing Service have been going through an exciting period of change, with a new operating model being developed for the Housing Repairs and Maintenance Team with void repairs and maintenance being carried out by our supply chain partner. Reporting to the Voids Contract Manager, you will have responsibility for organisation and coordination of the Voids Service including, but not limited to:
- Coordinating and providing administrative support for the effective delivery of voids associated works.
- Delivering a customer-focused voids service, in a timely, cost-effective, and safe manner.
- Coordinating the scheduling of all void property inspections and repairs to ensure that works are planned and delivered in line with the void standard, procedures, and timelines.
- Monitoring and reporting on the progress of works.
- Continually monitoring the quality and success of all void works, using data, analysis and insight to instigate appropriate improvements and recommendations.
- Providing robust administrative support functions to support the Voids Manager in budget monitoring, managing necessary databases and systems.
- Working closely and collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders across both Councils and externally to drive improvements and offer a first-class service to our customers.
- Being the primary point of contact for operational colleagues so that they can manage the lettings process alongside the refurbishment works.
- Ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
About you
We are looking for an efficient and organised professional, to take responsibility for the scheduling of void works creating maximum efficiency and ensuring key performance indicators are maintained to the highest level. You will have a good eye for detail, combined with a customer focused mindset, proven communication and IT skills, and a commitment to providing a first-class voids service. A good standard of education with GCSE's (or equivalent) in English and mathematics at grade C/4 or above is essential along with similar work experience gained in a busy service environment. Experience of having previously worked within a Repairs, Maintenance and Voids environment would be a significant benefit.
