Overview
In this role you will lead subcontractor quality assurance activities to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement. You will partner with stakeholders to monitor performance, manage NCRs, and support ISO 9001 certifications. You’ll influence quality culture across projects and participate in audits, aiming to strengthen safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities
- Support subcontractor quality assurance activities per client contracts
- Monitor subcontractor performance against contractual, regulatory, and quality requirements; drive improvements
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, QMS, regulatory, and industry standards
- Manage Subcontractor NCRs: investigation, disposition, corrective action, closure
- Support root cause investigations and corrective/preventive actions
- Serve as quality interface with stakeholders, subcontractors, regulatory authorities, and internal teams
- Assist Corporate QA Manager in maintaining and improving QMS and ISO 9001 certification
- Coordinate audits (internal, customer, regulatory, certification)
- Maintain corporate ISO certifications and other quality registrations
- Identify opportunities for operational excellence, process improvement, and risk reduction
- Analyze quality metrics, trends, risks; report to management
- Promote best practices and continuous improvement
- Provide quality leadership and subject-matter expertise
- Represent Quality in meetings and reviews
- Other duties as assigned
Key requirements
- Bachelor degree in a related field; minimum 8 years in Subcontractor Quality Assurance management
- Experience in industrial activities including ship/submarine repair or heavy equipment a strong asset
- Strong written and oral communication across levels and with subcontractors
- Collaborative skills with cross-functional groups and subcontractors
- Quality certifications (CQE, QA Auditor, Six Sigma Black Belt or similar)
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and other regulatory/industry standards
- Lean, Six Sigma, FMEA, First Article Inspection experience
- Experience with large data sets and data analytics
- Proficiency with MS Office and SharePoint
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience in business analysis, Lean, Agile, Six Sigma considered an asset
- Eligible for Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
