Overview
In this role you will provide embedded quality support for submarine-related work and ensure compliance with certification requirements. You will liaise with DND and suppliers to verify documentation and improve quality processes, contributing to safe and reliable defence capabilities. You will work closely with planning, production, engineering, and commissioning to uphold quality standards. This position offers the chance to influence submarine documentation, configuration, and certification at a Canadian defence contractor. You will operate in a collaborative, outcomes-focused environment that values rigor and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
- Technically support submarine disciplines (auxiliary systems, electrical/combat systems, structural) and EDWP work periods
- Interpret DND material certification requirements and define needed quality records
- Review OQE and other documentation from suppliers, sub-contractors, and DND
- Inspect safety-critical technical documentation and provide feedback to improve quality
- Advise planning, production, engineering, and commissioning on quality requirements
- Liaise with DND and stakeholders to ensure documentation meets requirements
- Update configurations in SDD and coordinate document/drawing updates
- Work with DRMIS (SAP) to maintain submarine configuration
Key requirements
- Diploma of Technology, Certificate of Technology, or equivalent experience and registration as an Applied Science Technologist or Certified Technician
- Experience with DND DRMIS or similar SAP application
- Practical experience in technical documentation review/analysis and QA processes
- Knowledge of marine/submarine systems across hull, mechanical, electrical, and combat domains
- Understanding of submarine First Level (safety critical) documentation
- Military experience is an asset; auditor qualifications are an asset
- Eligibility for Canadian Secret Security, Controlled Goods and ITAR clearance
