Overview
In this role you will coordinate interdisciplinary teams to deliver planning, production, engineering, commissioning, and subcontract work to meet milestones. You will support the Deputy Project Manager in sophisticated, often high-stakes projects that impact national security and critical assets. You’ll drive detailed planning, subcontract coordination, risk-aware delivery, and performance monitoring to ensure on-time, within-budget outcomes. Responsibilities
- Support Deputy Project Manager in day-to-day coordination of interdisciplinary teams to deliver scopes and hit milestones
- Lead development of daily/weekly workface plans and assist with detailed project schedules
- Coordinate subcontractors, including requirements, HS&E, execution strategy, and deliverables with functional departments
- Oversee on-site subcontract activities and maintain daily reports
- Monitor performance and costs against contracted scope
- Collaborate to define team metrics and proactively manage performance
- Ensure material availability and prerequisites for delivery
- Proactively manage issues to ensure timely delivery
- Focus on accelerating activities to meet or beat cost and schedule targets
- Contribute to risk management discussions with Delivery & Risk Teams
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and foster trust, teamwork, accountability
- Identify process improvements to support successful project delivery
Key requirements
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a Project Management or Operational environment
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field; preference for technical/engineering discipline
- Sound knowledge of Project Management principles and operational management
- PMP Certification or equivalent, or active pursuit within 18 months
- Strong communication skills for relationship-building and clear requirements
- Submarine experience an asset
- Experience integrating complex datasets with tools such as PowerBI an asset
- Eligibility for Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
