The role involves taking a leading role in delivering complex civil and structural engineering projects from concept through to completion. Working on major infrastructure programmes, you'll provide technical leadership, oversee engineering design packages, and ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality solutions that support critical defence operations.

You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engage with a wide range of stakeholders, and apply your expertise to challenging engineering problems that make a real difference to society.

  • Leading the delivery of civil and structural engineering design packages to agreed scope, quality, schedule and cost requirements.
  • Managing technical aspects of engineering projects from initial identification through to final handover.
  • Coordinating stakeholder engagement activities and incorporating requirements into engineering solutions.
  • Driving technical planning, design reviews and engineering assurance activities across complex infrastructure projects.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality, safety, risk management and engineering governance requirements.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with a minimum of 3 days onsite.

Essential experience:

  • Demonstrable experience managing complex civil or structural engineering design projects throughout the full design lifecycle.
  • Proven track record delivering civil and structural engineering designs within a highly regulated or comparable engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of the architectural design of industrial buildings and associated structures.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams with multiple technical interfaces.
  • Experience in the design and substantiation of heavy civil engineering and building structures, with dry dock structure experience advantageous.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional institution, or significant demonstrable engineering experience with the capability to achieve Chartered Engineer registration.
  • Membership of a relevant engineering institution is desirable.
  • Knowledge of relevant seismic design standards and nuclear safety-related structures would be advantageous.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
