The role As a Strategic Sourcing Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be key figure leading our Strategic Sourcing activity within our Land Sector supporting our Future Business relating to spends on goods and services across our Defence, Aviation and Critical Infrastructure industries. Day-to-day, you'll you will be responsible for Strategic Sourcing, Procurement & Supplier Relationship Management activity across our Land Sector to design, create and develop a dynamic Supply Chain solutions to improve profitability and capability, as well as supporting the creation of business winning supply chain solutions. This will include strategic sourcing, category management, sourcing projects, supplier negotiation, supplier and contract management, and value delivery activities. Responsible for generating and maintaining Strategic Sourcing Project Plans in support of the strategies. Support the delivery of business winning solution enabling business growth Lead the development of appropriate procurement strategies using strategic sourcing techniques (competition, direct negotiations etc.). Lead the contract tender evaluation, driving the award decision within Procurement and its implementation within P&SC. Responsible for the delivery of individual procurement cost down strategies that positively contribute to the Value Plan. Lead and own supplier engagement on market warming, solution development, negotiation, continuous improvement initiatives and dispute resolution.This position involves travel/working across a range of internal and customer sites, as a requirement of the role. This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home. The role is based at Donnington, Telford site. Essential experience of the Strategic Sourcing Manager Significant experience in a commercially focused equivalent role (strategic sourcing, category management etc.) and similar operating model Extensive experience in a commercial procurement environment Category Management / Strategic Sourcing experience across a broad portfolio in relevant market sectors. Understanding of e-procurement tools and their capability to inform and deliver sourcing strategies.
