What you'll be doing:
- Perform high end calibrations & repairs on a wide variety of electrical test, measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE)
- Deliver specific, target driven on the job training/experiential learning to ICS Electrical team members and apprentices/graduates
- Deputise for ICS Electrical team leader whenever required - Including people/resource management, workflow management and workload signoff
- Write and approve calibration procedures and measurement uncertainty budgets
- Take part in a range of Quality audits (including UKAS/ISO 17025), achieving UKAS signatory status
- Professional communication with technical stakeholders on instrumentation/calibration topics, including consultation on new measurement technologies
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Experience working in a precision Electrical Calibration/metrology laboratory environment
- Understanding of quality systems & standards (ISO 17025/ISO 9001)
- Relevant academic qualification (STEM Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent)
Desirable:
- Existing UKAS signatory status for Electrical Calibration
- Experience in creation of measurement uncertainty budgets to ISO 17025 level
- Experience in use of automation software (Fluke Metcal, Met/Track, Met/Teams, Labview)
- Experience in Mechanical, Dimensional, Temperature and other engineering calibrations

The (ICS Electrical) team:
The Calibration department currently supports 30,000 pieces of equipment per year, ranging from traditional analogue equipment through to state-of-the-art digital systems. ICS Electrical focuses the calibration, maintenance, and repair of TMDE capable of making AC/DC voltage, current, resistance, inductance, capacitance, and time/frequency measurements. ICS Electrical consists of around 8+ team members. ICS Electrical sits alongside various other teams within the overall Calibration department, consisting of 50+ team members. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
