Job Title: Senior CAD Designer – Electrical

Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Negotiable, depending on skills and experience

What you\’ll be doing:

  • Responsibility for producing 3D models of Electrical Systems and Equipment Integration
  • Using the CAD toolset to produce 3D models of electrical routed systems and electrical equipment integration e.g. switchboards and power units etc.
  • Maturing and developing 2D electrical schematics / system diagrams
  • Producing outputs (including 2D drawings and electronic data) to support manufacturing, installation and testing of our products

Your skills and experiences:

  • Relevant apprenticeship, engineering qualification or previous experience as an Electrical Designer / Draughtsperson e.g. HNC, ONC or degree qualification in relevant STEM subject or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in electrical compartment integration and Engineering Standards at component and sub-component / assembly level
  • Knowledge and understanding of electrical routed systems at both 2D and 3D level
  • Understanding of CAD toolsets and techniques

Joining the Design team will provide you with the exciting opportunity to make the future more secure for everyone. No two days will be the same as you work with a powerful combination of advanced technology and cutting-edge products on World Class Submarine programmes.
You will be supported in your role with training and mentoring from colleagues to ensure you are always set up for success. You can also enjoy a variety of future career progression choices across our numerous business areas; including Principal Designer or leadership roles within the team. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria. These roles also offer paid overtime, subject to business requirements.
