Overview
In this role you will lead quality on a major international shipbuilding programme from Babcock’s Rosyth site. You’ll establish governance, assurance and compliance frameworks to enable delivery across UK and overseas operations. You’ll oversee quality across suppliers and delivery teams, and act as the main quality contact for customers and auditors. You’ll drive continuous improvement through audits, inspections and corrective actions while building a capable, quality-focused team. This is a high-impact, cross-functional position in a secure, engineering-led environment with hybrid working.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain programme quality plans, assurance processes, and governance frameworks
- Lead quality oversight across suppliers, subcontractors, and delivery teams to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance
- Serve as the primary quality contact for customers, certification bodies, and internal stakeholders
- Monitor quality performance via audits, inspections, reports and corrective actions to drive improvement
- Build, mentor and influence quality teams and promote a strong quality culture across the programme
Key requirements
- Senior quality leadership experience within shipbuilding, marine, manufacturing or complex engineering environments
- Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems, QA methodologies, auditing processes, and continuous improvement
- Experience developing and implementing quality plans, governance frameworks, and assurance processes on large programmes
- Knowledge of certification, regulatory and classification body requirements with experience engaging customers/auditors
- Experience managing supplier quality and driving cross-functional performance in complex delivery environments
