Overview
As Commercial Manager you will lead commercial strategies for high-value UK and international opportunities in advanced manufacturing, civil nuclear, and shipbuilding. You’ll guide bids from early engagement through contract award, negotiate terms, and manage commercial risk in a complex, regulated environment. You’ll work within the Global Shipbuilding and Advanced Engineering Commercial Team to drive growth and secure impactful contracts. This role offers hybrid UK-based working and a clear path to influence major programmes. You’ll partner with customers, partners, and internal teams to deliver value and governance-ready outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Develop commercial strategies for new UK and international opportunities
- Support bids and tenders from pre-sales through submission, negotiation and award
- Review and negotiate contracts, agreements, and commercial terms
- Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks across a varied portfolio
- Build strong relationships with customers, partners, suppliers, and stakeholders across the business
Key requirements
- Demonstrable commercial or contract management experience in a complex engineering, manufacturing, infrastructure, defence, or similarly regulated environment
- Strong understanding of commercial principles, contractual risk management, and various forms of commercial agreements
- Experience supporting bids, tenders, contract negotiations, or business growth activities
- Strong stakeholder management with ability to influence across functions
- Excellent communication skills meeting demanding customer and governance deadlines
- Ability to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance
