Babcock is committed to being a good neighbor, ensuring that we are positively contributing to society’s progress and building meaningful and mutually beneficial relations with Indigenous peoples, businesses, and communities.We encourage you to explore our Babcock Canada website to learn more about us at .In this role, you will: Manage, coordinate, and grow weld quality assurance and quality control capabilities as required, to meet current and future business requirements.Review and accept contractor developed welding procedure specifications.Review and accept contractor welder performance qualifications.Review and accept contractor developed Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) procedures.Complete weld quality surveillance duties.Collaborate with internal and external organizations including Babcock Engineering & Corporate Quality Assurance, subcontracted weld engineers or weld companies in support of welding and NDE quality, process controls, and performance / procedure qualifications.The ideal candidate brings: Graduated from a recognized institution with post-secondary education or accreditation as a Welding Technologist (or equivalent) or significant experience and exposure to welding and NDE activities in the marine sector.Eligible for registration with the Applied Science Technologists & Technicians of British Columbia as an Applied Science Technologist.10+ years experience with welding, weld inspection, structural engineering, or naval architecture.Experience providing technical leadership and guidance to technologists.
