b Overview /b p In this role you will oversee electrical testing and commissioning for Victoria Class Submarine systems, guiding multi-disciplinary teams to deliver reliable, certified test results. You will mentor junior specialists, articulate complex technical issues to stakeholders, and help drive safe, effective testing in a shipyard environment. This position sits within a broader defence mission to keep critical assets secure and operational. You will work closely with commissioning managers and technical teams to ensure mission-critical systems meet quality and safety standards. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li 100% employer-paid health and dental premiums /li li Wellness benefit /li li EFAP /li li Maternity/Parental Leave top-up /li li RRSP/DPSP matching /li li TFSA /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Oversee testing, acceptance, and maintenance activities for Victoria Class Submarine systems and equipment /li li Direct a Test Director and multi-disciplinary team during submarine testing /li li Oversee equipment troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and corrective maintenance /li li Mentor and guide Senior Test Specialists and Test Technicians /li li Contribute to solving complex issues and clearly communicate risks to stakeholders /li li Lead small to medium teams to deliver projects or tasks /li li Record defects using Babcock Canada IT applications /li li Draft and review test documentation and work instructions /li li Draft and review lockout/tagout documentation for safe commissioning /li li Identify risks and opportunities during testing and maintenance /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li 10+ years of related technical experience /li li Experience operating, testing/commissioning electrical systems /li li Professional Engineer (P.Eng), Applied Science Technologist (AScT), or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) or eligibility to register within 12 months /li li Marine, offshore, naval vessel, or submarine experience is an asset /li li Strong knowledge of electrical/marine systems (AC/DC, control systems, batteries, naval mission systems, fibre optics, UPS, etc.) or related testing expertise /li li Physical ability to climb stairs, work in confined spaces, and in an industrial environment /li li Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal abilities /li li Strong computer skills including MS Office /li li Eligibility for Canadian Secret Security and ITAR clearance /li li Post-secondary education in engineering technology or equivalent experience (degree/diploma/certificate) /li /ul ul li Strong communication /li li Mentorship and leadership /li li Collaboration and teamwork /li li Electrical systems testing and commissioning /li li AC power distribution and control systems /li li DC control systems / motor control / generator testing /li /ul
