The role
As a Pilot, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. An exciting opportunity to join Babcock Mission Critical Services Onshore (BMCSO), a leading provider of mission-critical helicopter services to the air ambulance, police, and offshore sectors. BMCSO provides world-class operations to our customers helping them to save lives and protect communities every day.
Day-to-day, BMCSO currently operate EC135 and EC145 aircraft in a variety of roles. The position is for a captain position based in Norwich operating on the H145 D3 and offers varied and challenging flying across a range of disciplines including HEMS and NVIS operations. The successful candidate will be required to maintain the highest standards of professional expertise and safety throughout the conduct of this challenging role.
This role is full time, 40 hours per week and is based on site at Norwich.
Essential experience of the Pilot
- Either: 1000 hours pilot in command of aircraft of which 500 hours is pilot in command on twin turbine helicopters; or 1000 hours as co-pilot in HEMS operations of which 500 hours is as pilot in command under supervision and 100 hours pilot in command of twin turbine helicopters.
- 2000 hours minimum total helicopter experience.
- 500 hours operating experience in twin turbine helicopters in an operational environment similar to the intended operation.
- 20 hours VMC at night as pilot in command.
- Have experience of flight with Night Vision Goggles.
Qualifications for the Pilot
- Hold a UK ATPL(H)
- Fluent English, Driving Licence, Passport, Right to Work in the UK
- Be qualified and instrument rated on the EC145.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
