Overview
In this role, you lead the Commercial function for the Major Infrastructure Project portfolio within the MNCP, shaping commercial strategy on complex MoD programmes. You will drive value across high-value defence construction, act as an escalation point for tricky commercial issues, and partner with suppliers, clients, and internal teams to deliver robust governance. The position offers national-scale impact at Devonport, with hybrid work and a strong emphasis on leadership and governance. You will shape contracts and pricing models to support critical national infrastructure.

Responsibilities
- Lead planning and delivery of multiple construction contracts across major defence infrastructure programmes
- Act as escalation point for complex/high-risk commercial issues, coordinating legal input as needed
- Develop and manage robust commercial strategies including NEC4 contracts and pricing models
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, internal teams and clients to negotiate terms, scope and pricing
- Oversee contract administration, change control, evidence gathering, pre-tender estimates, cost planning and subcontract reviews in line with governance
Key requirements
- Comprehensive experience with NEC4 contracts
- Experience managing large, complex construction contracts and bids in a regulated environment
- Ability to develop and maintain effective customer and supply chain relationships
