The Role

As a Head of Production, you will play a pivotal role in aligning production goals with the company's strategic objectives, leading the production team, and collaborating with other teams and departments to meet business targets. You'll oversee operations at Babcock sites from Bristol to Leicester, focusing on assembly, testing, maintenance, and repair of complex equipment. Reporting to the Director of Production, you'll lead teams in planning and delivering mission-critical products.

Your role ensures efficient, on-time, and cost-effective production while upholding quality and safety standards. You'll align production goals with company strategy, lead the team, and collaborate across departments to achieve business targets.

  • Lead and inspire production teams, driving high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Shape strategy to align with company goals, market trends, and technological advancements.
  • Deliver results by meeting output targets and optimising resources.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, finance, logistics, HR, and quality teams.
  • Manage planning and risk, ensuring smooth mobilisation, order book control, and mitigation of safety or supply chain issues.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with a requirement of weekly travel between sites in Bristol, Tewksbury and Leicester.

Essential Experience

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, capable to lead and motivate a diverse team work across functions and locations.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, techniques, and industry best practices.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems, health and safety regulations, and relevant industry standards.
  • Experience in production based senior leadership role, with a proven track record of managing manufacturing or production delivery, engineering and/or operations would be beneficial.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, engineering, operations management, or demonstrable experience worked in a related field.
