Job Title: Engineer – Strategic Weapons Organisation
Location: Barrow-in-Furness. On-Site

What you\’ll be doing:
- Reviewing Engineering documentation relating to SWSS & CHM&E as well as author technical reports and support upcoming design reviews
- Communicating and liaising with Construction Engineering and the Barrow Field Office verifying design solutions align with accepted UK & US standards
- Authoring Technical Notes / instruction for rectification (via Task Authorisation Forms) & Notifications
- Reviewing US supplied drawings & Change for impact to the UK platform considering UK unique elements and build agreements
- Where US derived change is identified engage with the Change Management community via the Enterprise Change Request (ECR) process to ensure a full impact assessment is conducted
- Working with the client and other stakeholders to determine and manage their expectations in respect of the integration of the US supplied systems into the UK platform with regards to coordinated requirements
- Creating parts, raising GF requests and responding to procurement queries for SWS, SWSS and CHM&E components and assemblies
- Encourage and guide continuous improvement within Trident Engineering, challenging current practice where appropriate
- Ability to travel within the UK to attend training as well as travel to the US shipbuilder sites
Your skills and experiences:
- Degree Qualified in Engineering or STEM related subject
- Understanding of a complex environments (mechanical, electrical or structural background)
- An understanding / ability to author technical documentation
- Ability to articulate complex issues and problem solve
- Comfortable in a dynamic team environment
- Working towards or obtained Engineering Chartership or willing to obtain

The Strategic Weapons Organisation team:
You will be supporting the delivery of the Dreadnought Class Submarines working on the integration of the Strategic Weapon System and Supporting Systems into the UK Platform including Common Hull & Electrical Systems. This a key niche area where you can make your mark within a dynamic and responsive team where no two days are the same. This role will potentially have both UK wide travel and international travel. There is an opportunity to build an extensive stakeholder network (all functions within the yard, MoD etc.). This role will also provide a range of training opportunities and the chance to gain professional qualifications and further enhance your career.
We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
